Maui, Honolulu rank high among domestic travelers

Maui and Honolulu rank among the top five most popular U.S. vacation sites for Americans, beaten by Las Vegas and Orlando, Fla., according to a recent "2004 Travel Trends" survey of 287 Carlson Wagonlit Travel associated agencies. Phoenix-Scottsdale was fifth in the poll.

Kauai ranked 12th in the survey, which was conducted Oct. 20 to Nov. 19 and represented nearly one in three Carlson Wagonlit agency locations in the United States.

Meeting planners praise HVCB

The Hawaii Visitors & Convention Bureau has won a Meeting News Planners' Choice Award for 2003, based on staff expertise, quality of services and timely responses to the needs of meeting planners, the bureau said.

Readers nominated the bureau, and Meeting News, an industry newspaper, conducted a survey of readers and consulted with experts in picking the award winners. This is the second consecutive year HVCB has won the award.
