Nick Rogers of Mililani went strong to the basket against Waipahu last night. Rogers scored a team-high 11 points in the Trojans' 74-48 win over the Marauders.



Mililani 74, Waipahu 48: Nick Rogers scored 11 points to lead Mililani past Waipahu in the varsity basketball game.

The Trojans took advantage of numerous turnovers to take big leads of 35-16 at the half and 49-31 at the end of three periods.

Aaron Kanno, Alex Patykula, Puna Neumann and Jonovan Santos each added nine points for Mililani. Kanno and Neumann scored seven each in the Trojans' 24-point second quarter.

Andre Tailele led the Marauders with a game-high 17 points, including nine in the third quarter.

Kahuku 72, Thompson Academy 6
Okesene Ale scored all 16 of his points in the first half as Kahuku shut out Thompson 22-0 in the first quarter and never looked back.
Keo Evans-Gonda drilled a 3-pointer to put Thompson Academy on the board, but it was tough going for the newest OIA school as they fell to 0-2 in OIA play.

Robert Holder scored 16 of his 24 points in the third quarter as the Tigers used a 24-13 run to open the second half to pull away from Farrington.
Josh Valdez and Abel Werner each added 14 points for McKinley and Valdez also nailed three of the Tigers' 7 3-pointers on the evening.
John Fonoti led the Governors with 16 points as Farrington managed to stay close, trailing by just five at halftime. But the Govs struggled from the free-throw line, shooting just 9-for-23 for the game.

Four Menehune players scored in double figures as Moanalua survived a late Falcons rally to win by ten.
Eric Keys scored 12 points and Zachary Pendergast added 10 points, including a pair of 3-pointers, to help the Menehunes build a 48-27 lead after three quarters.
The Falcons wouldn't go down easily as they mounted a late comeback, scoring 31 points in the fourth quarter, four more then they had all game, but simply just ran out of time. Carsen Chun scored 14 points and Dustin Umeda added 13 in the loss.

Warren Simanu scored 22 points and Brad Padayao added 11 as Kapolei remained undefeated in OIA play.
Simanu scored 14 of his 22 points in the second half as the Hurricane finally got into their offensive groove in the second half, after scoring just 23 points in the first half. Jefferson Gaygay added a pair of 3-pointers to help pull away.
Justin Lafua led the Seasiders with 12 points and Jayson Milare added eight points, including a pair of 3-pointers.
