Polynesian Center opens Waikiki store

The Polynesian Cultural Center has expanded to Waikiki with the opening of a new store, Polynesian Cultural Center Treasures. The store is at the Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort and Spa, 2552 Kalakaua Ave., next to the Kuhio Beach Grill.

The store features videos, DVDs, calendars, T-shirts, books and Polynesian handicraft items. Dancers from the Polynesian Cultural Center will perform and teach hula there every Monday through Saturday from 8 to 9 a.m.

Aston to remain at Coral Reef

Aston Hotels & Resorts Hawaii has been retained as the management firm for the Coral Reef Hotel.

The move reverses a previous decision that would have had another company take over the property's management effective Jan. 1.

The Coral Reef, located at 2299 Kuhio Ave, has been Aston-managed since Jan. 1, 1973. Aston Hawaii operates 30 condominium resorts and hotels with 5,500 rooms on the four major Hawaiian islands.
