L.A. alternative
band hits Oahu

From the City of Angels comes alternative rock band Honeyride, here for a minitour of Oahu venues. The Los Angeles-founded powerhouse unit just completed a New Year's Eve bash at Longhi's in the Ala Moana Center, and will do three more gigs here.

Honeyride does all original material, with a quartet of musicians that have worked with a diverse array of talent that includes Sinéad O'Connor, General Public, Suicidal Tendencies, and Hootie and the Blowfish. The guys are veteran road and studio session musicians all.

The band's Hawaii roots are evident in the guitar tandem of Maui and Oahu restaurateur and recording artist Charlie Longhi and guitarist Johnny Perez.

Here's Honeyride's remaining schedule:

>> 6 to 9 p.m. today at Kapono's, Aloha Tower Marketplace
>> 11 p.m. to 1:45 a.m. at Wave Waikiki, 1877 Kalakaua Ave.
>> 10 p.m. to 1:45 a.m. back at Longhi's, Ala Moana Center
