HPR Hilo station temporarily out

Hawaii Public Radio's Hilo transmitter went off the air Tuesday and isn't expected to be back up until next week.

KANO 91.1 FM will be down while the station replaces a part that failed.

New hires

>> First Hawaiian Bank has appointed the following officers: Dale T. Kobayashi to institutional client relations vice president and manager; Demaney C. W. Kihe to Kaneohe branch personal banking officer; Brian Asamoto to information technology systems officer; and Michael Verity to Bishop Street Capital Management equity analyst. Kobayashi joined the company in 2002 as vice president and Bishop Street Capital Management senior investment officer. Kihe was previously a Hawaii National Bank commercial loan officer. Asamoto joined First Hawaiian in 1996 as a programmer analyst and Verity joined in 2002 as an investment specialist.

>> Grace Pacific Corp. has hired Marc Nischik as sales representative for subsidiary GP Maintenance Solutions Inc. He will sell and provide technical support to government agencies and the military for the company's glass-like coating product, Microguard. Prior to joining the firm, he was the government sales marketing manager for Adsil.

>> The American Society of Landscape Architects has selected PBR Hawaii Executive Vice President and Principal Russell Y. J. Chung as a fellow. The designation indicates he has been recognized by his peers as having accomplished extraordinary work over a sustained period of time.
