Former Aiea basketball standout Aritta Lane was named the Western Athletic Conference Player of the Week for Dec. 8-14. The Fresno State forward scored a career-high 25 points and had nine rebounds in the Bulldog's 71-61 victory over Santa Clara.

Lane leads the WAC in scoring, averaging 18.6 points a game. It was the first weekly honor for the junior and the first time since the 2001-02 season that a Fresno State player has won the award.

In two games last week, Lane was 15 of 29 from the field.
