seeking volunteers

The Waikiki Aquarium is seeking volunteers to help interpret its "Edge of the Reef" interactive program for visitors.

The exhibit features habitats common along Hawaii's shoreline, including sand dunes, rocky tide pools and coral reef. Volunteers will receive training from experts and education about rare Hawaiian marine species and the ocean ecosystem.

Benefits include complimentary Friends of the Waikiki Aquarium membership and free admission, a quarterly newsletter and gift shop and program discounts.

For more information, call Volunteer Coordinator Joan Kafenzis at 440-9020 or Education Program Assistant Dean Spencer, 440-9009.

Volunteers must be 18 or older and willing to make a six-month commitment.
