Synopsis: The article addresses the issue of Kamehameha's settlement and related issues.

I ko'u heluhelu 'ana mai i nä nüpepa puka lä 'elua o Honolulu nei i këia pule nei, kaumaha ihola ko'u na'au i nä mo'olelo e pili ana i ka hihia o Kamehameha. 'O ke kumu mua i kaumaha ai ko'u na'au, 'o ia ka 'aelike o nä kahu waiwai o Kamehameha me ka mea näna i ho'opi'i iä läkou. 'O ka lua o ke kumu, 'o ia ka hana a nä känaka 'ekolu i hö'ike a'e nei, na läkou 'ekolu e ho'oka'a i kahi hapa o nä pila o ia 'ao'ao ho'opi'i. 'O ke kolu o ke kumu, 'o ia ka ho'olauwili 'ia 'ana o ka 'ölelo. 'O ka hä, 'o ia ka na'aupö. Eia mai kahi mau mana'o no nä kumu 'ehä i kani ai ka 'uhü.

1) 'O ka 'aelike i 'äpono 'ia aku nei ma ka Pö'ahä nei. He hä'awi pio nö ke 'ano o ia 'aelike. Ua nui nö nä känaka e käko'o ana i ke kula 'o Kamehameha, e kü ana ho'i i ka pono, no ka pono, ua mäkaukau nö "e alu ka pule iä Hakalau," 'o ia ho'i, e pule like nä känaka kü i ka pono no ka pono o ka Hawai'i a 'o ia ka mea e puka ai a e kö ai paha ka mana'o. Aia ka pono 'o ka huliamahi 'ana.
