Holiday post office
schedule set

Holiday letters and cards to the U.S. mainland should be mailed by Dec. 17, and packages sent by Dec. 16 as priority mail, the U.S. Postal Service suggests.

Packages to the mainland may be sent as late as Dec. 20 via express mail to arrive in time for Christmas.

Letters and cards bound for Japan, China and the Philippines should be mailed by Wednesday; packages via air mail, by Friday; and packages via global priority mail, by Dec. 10.

Eighteen Oahu offices will also have extended holiday hours Dec. 8-22.

Both the Airport and Ala Moana post offices will be open Sunday, Dec. 14 and 21. Customers are encouraged to use the additional weekend hours of Dec. 13 and 14.
