Youths and young adults
have rally set for next week

Performances by Christian music recording artists Kristin Taylor, Shanita Akana and Shannon Scott will highlight a youth rally and young adult conference next Saturday at the Hawai'i Convention Center.

More than 4,000 people are expected to attend the all-day event, which will begin at 8 a.m. with a keynote address by Lt. Gov. James "Duke" Aiona.

People of all faiths are invited to attend the "Come Just as You Are" conference sponsored by the Youth and Young Adult Board of the Honolulu Catholic diocese.

The Rev. Terry Hershey, an Episcopal priest who writes and speaks on young-adult issues, will be one of several presenters at seminars and faith-sharing workshops during the day.

A family musical concert, including local bands and choirs, will begin at 5:30 p.m., to be followed by a teen dance at 7:30 p.m.

A midway of booths and displays by several service organizations will be open throughout the day.

All events are free and open to the public.
