ONE FOR THE ELKS: Martin Denny, standing right, sat in with Del Courtney, right, and the Del Courtney Orchestra at the Elks Club. DCO vocalists Jimmy Borges and Shari Lynn, front, provided the "bird calls" for "Quiet Village," and were joined on stage after Denny finished with "If I Had You" by his daughter, Christina Denny. Bassist Steve Jones had a perfect view from the stage.

THEY'RE HAPPY!: Hoku Award-winning record producer Dave Tucciarone and multi-talented Dorothy Stamp were given a table with no view of the band but had a great time anyway as Maunalua celebrated the recent release of the group's new album, "Kuleana," at Gordon Biersch. Maunalua had so much fun they played until almost 10.

GREAT "CITY SOUNDS": Anita Hall congratulated the Honolulu Jazz Quartet -- Tim Tsukiyama, left, Adam Baron, John Kolivas and Dan Del Negro --during the party for the HJQ's debut album, "Sounds Of The City," at Kapono's. Hall, who had sung on the HJQ's CD single, sat in later. Robert Pennybacker and Keahi Conjugacion sat in, too. Shoji Ledward, Kanoe Cazimero, Danny Kaleikini and Linda Wong enjoyed an evening of great jazz.
