Kaio and Asashoryu
share first place


TOKYO >> Ozeki Kaio and yokozuna Asashoryu improved to 3-0 today at the Autumn Grand Sumo Tournament to remain in a tie for first place.

Kaio, coming off a title performance, beat Hokutoriki (1-2) by hatakikomi (slap down), while Asashoryu beat Takamisakari (1-2) by yorikiri (frontal force out).

Five others are tied for first place.

Yokozuna Musashimaru, or Hawaii's Fiamalu Penitani, is sitting out the tournament.
