Jacobe Akiu broke 100 yards on only seven carries and led the Mustangs over the Menehunes.

Moanalua held the Mustangs to six points with five minutes left in the first half when its tired defense broke down, yielding a touchdown to Akiu.

"The dam had to break sometime," Moanalua coach Arnold Martinez said. "We held them in the first half, but we just couldn't get a first down. Our two-way players almost played 40 minutes straight because we couldn't get the defense off the field. I had to call timeouts just for them to get their reps."
