Loss hurts Maui Land

Maui Land & Pineapple Co. brought up the rear this week among local stocks, falling 7.8 percent.

The real estate and agricultural company reported a quarterly net loss of $4 million Tuesday, compared to a loss of $2.1 million in the same period the year before.

Three stocks had no change for the week.

Shares of Hawaiian Airlines have been halted since July 14 pending the resolution of debts the bankrupt carrier says are the responsibility of its holding company.

The others were Barnwell Industries Inc. and Ceatech USA Inc., which tend to be lightly traded.
