Robert Bruce Bielka returns with his Bearloom and animal charms, plus precious stone jewelry.

Simply charming

Charms that dangle from wrists and neck are making a comeback, and leading the charge is Robert Bruce Bielka.

Art The designer returns to Neiman Marcus for a trunk show featuring his renowned Bearloom collection featuring 18K gold and precious stone Teddy bear charms complete with moveable limbs. The charms are detailed down to paw prints and cuddly expressions.

There will be little gold dogs, cats, monkeys and other creatures as well, along with Bielka's one-of-a-kind couture pieces. Prices start at about $500.

The show takes place 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. tomorrow and Saturday in the Precious Jewels Salon, Level One. For details, call 951-3449.

The 14K Hawaiian gold charm can move over. There's a new jewelry sensation in town, and that would be the Hawaiian slipper charm made of enamel and crystals.

Art The Ultimate You owner Kelsey Sears saw them at a jewelry trade show about five months ago and brought a few back to her shop. She's been reordering ever since, unable to keep them in stock. At $10 each, she said, people buy one, only to come back an hour later or the next day for more after listening to their friends gush over them.

"They're fun, they're conversation pieces," Sears said. "They make people happy. They just say 'Hawaii.' "

The Ultimate You carries four styles, that can be worn singly or in multiples, along with chains priced at $3 to $10.

The boutique is in the Ward Centre. Call 591-8388.

The color of jewelry

The Gallery & Gardens LLC will be the site of a trunk show Saturday through Monday, featuring semiprecious bead jewelry by Gillian van Royen.

Van Royen will be there all three days offering advice on the perfect jewelry colors and styles for you.

Her pieces capture a spectrum of color ranging from milky whites to midnight blues and Chinese cinnabar red.

The site is at 47-754 Lamaula Road in Kahaluu. Gallery hours will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free. For more information, call 239-8146.

Skip the Botox

Do you fear needles but find your expression in need of a lift? Natura Bisse may have the solution. The Spanish-based beauty company launches its latest invention, Inhibit, Sunday at Neiman Marcus.

Inhibit has been described as a "face lift in a tube," and Hawaii -- where we have acres of sun-ravaged skin -- will have its launch two weeks before any other store in the nation.

It was a case of necessity being the mother of invention: Use of neurotoxins such as Botox is prohibited in Spain.

Unlike Botox, Inhibit doesn't use harsh chemicals, doesn't paralyze your muscles and will purportedly help you keep your natural expression, only smoother, as the translucent gel is rubbed on to minimize lines and wrinkles.

An introductory value pack featuring two tubes of Inhibit will be available for $225.

Look for the Natura Bisse counter during store hours.
