PARTY IN THE RAIN: Periodic showers didn't stop the party as Weldon Kekauoha & Tapa Groove celebrated the release of their first album, "Kanaka Maoli," with guest artists Maunalua and Three Plus at Gordon Biersch on Sunday. Joining Kekauoha, fourth from left, were Kainani Kahaunaele, left, Kaulana Pakele, Bruce Spencer, "Uncle Bobby" Moderow Jr., John Baricuatro Jr., Marcus Pakele, Kahi Kaonohi and Tanoa Kapana.

HOT HATS: Chrissy Naruo, left, Zan De Peralta, Michael K. Pa'ekukui, Neil N. Furukawa, front, and Michael Furuya wore bright hats at the "On Dragonfly Wings" cast party at the Hawaii Theatre Friday. The hats were gifts from Kyle Metcalf, who seeks out colorful party stuff.

FASHION NIGHT: Laka, left, and Eric Mack partied on with Denise Samson, Helen Powers, Brittany Gilardy and Ali Lee after the "Pretty in Punk" Rock N Fashion show at the Wave Waikiki on Monday. Feminine attire from Lingerie Heaven and the Last Resort was presented to the music of Hellbound Hounds. It was a big night for the high-impact band as well, as the set featured music from the group's upcoming album, "Bound."
