CINDY ELLEN RUSSELL / CRUSSELL@STARBULLETIN.COM Triathlete Joe Zwack ran yesterday in the Third Annual BananaMan 5K Chase, sponsored by Jamba Juice, at Ala Moana Beach Park. The run, in which participants chase triathletes dressed in banana costumes, benefits the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Hawaii.

DENNIS ODA / DODA@STARBULLETIN.COM The Hawaiian Islands Vintage Surf Auction was held yesterday at Blaisdell Exhibition Hall and there was a lot of interest in the vintage and collectable surfboards.

DENNIS ODA / DODA@STARBULLETIN.COM Jay Freis and Heera Sazevich admired this late 1920s surfboard, a 10-foot redwood plank with a shark inlay design. Its pre-auction value was at $6,500 to $10,000.
