Talking music: James Hill, left, Jon Yamasato and Peter Luongo, standing behind Yamasato, talked music backstage with Weldon Kekauoha, top center, and Tapa Groove as 99.5 radio presented another "Concert in the Courtyard" at the Sheraton Moana Surfrider on Thursday. An impromptu hula danced by DJ Ola Souza to Maunalua's rendition of "Ka Alahele 'Opu'upu'u" was a beautiful surprise.

Rockin' with chant: Lei-bedecked filmmaker Eric Byler, in leis, partied with the men of Chant at Meritage following the mainstream Honolulu premiere of his film, "Charlotte Sometimes," at the Wallace Art House Theatre on Friday. It had been a long day for Byler, who came home to help promote his indie film project. He'd fielded audience questions about it following a public screening earlier that evening.
