Promotions

>> Debra Henton has been promoted to director of customer affairs at The Gas Co. She will manage the call center, new service connections, meter reading, billing and appliance repair functions for both utility and non-utility service on Oahu. She started with The Gas Co.'s then parent company, Pacific Resources Inc., in 1987 as an accounts payable clerk. She was promoted to a number of accounting positions and served as the company's Kauai office supervisor prior to her new position.

>> Wendell Kalei-Anuenue Lee has been named tax partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers' Honolulu office. He will lead the tax practice's 30 professional staff, oversee the department's daily operations and develop new strategies to meet client needs. Prior to his promotion, he served as senior tax manager.

>> Coldwell Banker Pacific Properties has promoted Donna Pantaleo to office manager in its Kahala office. She was most recently an administrative assistant in the administrative offices. Pantaleo will be responsible for the management of personnel and agents, marketing coordination and all office operations.

Recognition

>> JoAnn Mattson is one of 12 honorees chosen by the Asian Pacific American Women's Leadership Institute for its 2003 National Fellows Leadership Program. She is an assistant vice president and the electronic funds transfer department manager at City Bank. Mattson will receive 21 days of training to further develop her skills as an ethical and caring leader. Upon the program's completion, she will be expected to implement a project to positively impact the lives of at least 25 individuals.

>> Guy Steele has been named a field trainer for Edward Jones. He works as an investment representative for the company in Kailua. Steele will train new Hawaii brokers in this voluntary position. He also writes a personal finance column for the Honolulu Star-Bulletin. Cents & Sensibility runs in the Saturday business section.

>> Newton Y. S. Kim has been awarded the certified residential specialist designation by the nonprofit Council of Residential Specialists, an affiliate of National Association of Realtors. He is employed with Discovery Properties.
