Kids benefit from grant
for speech therapy

A $44,500 gift from the Oscar & Rosetta Fish Speech Therapy and Forensics Fund will enable hundreds of children from 3 to 6 years old to receive speech therapy through Easter Seals Hawaii in East Hawaii and on Kauai.

The speech therapy program, which began in 1996, annually serves about 400 children with special needs or disabilities.

The Alexander Tulloch Trust also provided a $15,000 grant to Easter Seals to ensure camp opportunities for special-needs children on the four major islands.

The camp provides outdoor experiences, camaraderie and skills to help children build self-confidence and become independent.

For more information, visit Easter Seals' Web site at www.eastersealshawaii.org.
