>> Joal Dennis has been promoted to admissions director at Maui Youth and Family Services. He has worked at the organization for three years in Hoomana, the independent living program, and will now assist service providers in having children placed in appropriate residential and substance abuse programs. Prior to this, he managed a rental services business for 20 years.

>> Familian Northwest has promoted John J. Banquil to branch manager of its Kokea Street location. He will oversee 30 associates and daily operations, including sales, purchasing functions, warehousing, advertising and marketing. He was previously the Kapolei branch manager and has been with the company for more than 10 years, beginning as a sales associate. Familian Northwest is a national plumbing products distributor serving the residential, industrial, commercial, manufacturing, heating and waterworks markets.

>> Bank of Hawaii has promoted Karen C. Lee, Paul B. Ramelb and Kevin B. Yim to vice president. Lee is manager of payment systems and oversees remittance processing, electronic payments, foreign check processing, account reconciliation services and statement rendering in the bank's regional processing center. Ramelb continues his responsibilities as audit consultant, where he evaluates operating procedures and control systems and recommends programs to correct deficiencies and enhance operations. Yim continues his position as advertising manager, where he develops and executes advertising and merchandising.

New jobs

>> Julie Ahue Murray has been named president of Winners at Work. She previously served as executive director of the March of Dimes in Hawaii. Before that she was the American Red Cross of Hawaii chief development officer. On her first day in that job, Hurricane Iniki devastated Kauai.

>> Coldwell Banker Pacific Properties has hired 12 new sales associates: Rebecca S. Bailey, Mitchell E. Breon, Eric C. Bretschneider, Mimi Dizon, Kevin Kasai, John F. Kendrick, Michele Kurashima, Libby Lum, Karin D. McCorriston, Lois H. Miyashiro, Dru Nabarrete, Lisa K. Sakamoto, Lucy Wang and Masa Yamazaki.

>> KITV 4 has hired Christopher Anderson as a sales account executive and Jon Kawamura as a client service executive. Anderson was previously in the telecommunications industry and Kawamura worked with New Wave Broadcasting. KITV 4 is an ABC affiliate owned by Hearst-Argyle Television Inc.

Recognition

>> Radisson Waikiki Prince Kuhio Hotel employee Jose Rocasa has won the American Hospitality and Lodging Association's 2003 Lodging Employee of the Year award because he volunteered to donate his kidney to save longtime patron Walter Nishioka, who was diagnosed with kidney disease. Rocasa previously won the 2003 Hawaii Hotel Association Lodging Employee of the Year award.

>> American Express Honolulu financial advisor Joseph Rothstein has been appointed a member of the company's Advanced Advisor Group of Senior Financial Advisors. Members are selected based on their success as financial consultants, recognized professional designations, and quality of financial planning, advice and client service.
