Pearl Harbor vets
back bill for road honor

COLUMBUS, Ohio >> A dozen survivors of the 1941 Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor visited the Ohio Statehouse to support a bill commemorating the event.

Members of the Ohio Pearl Harbor Survivors Association lobbied lawmakers Wednesday on behalf of a bill that would designate Interstate 75 in Ohio the Pearl Harbor Memorial Highway.

Jim Welker, the association's state chairman, said the bill is needed to help forever honor the memory of those who died at Pearl Harbor.
