CONGRATULATIONS, LINDA!: Monty Witt, left, and Tim Moulson congratulated Linda Johnson on the successful opening of "Proof" at Manoa Valley Theatre on Wednesday. Johnson had signed on as the director of the cerebral play about life, love and theoretical mathematics but ended up playing the nominal villainess as well. Witt, Johnson's assistant, says that doing theater adds to his showmanship as a professional magician.

RANDAL'S NEW LOOK: Randal Ask, right, caught up with cast member Brent Yoshikami and surprised onlookers with his new look. Ask had dark hair when he and Yoshikami were seen in Diamond Head Theatre's recent staging of "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest."

A GREAT PARTY: MVT Administrative Manager Yesenia Sanchez, left, helped "Proof" associate producer Karen Bumatai and costume designer Athena Espania make sure the party was a success. Peter Bond and Howard Bishop were among those at the party, catered by Cher K's Chef Kristen Van Bodgraven. Espania, wearing a limited-edition "Proof" T-shirt, switched to a basic black ensemble before the party was over.
