Smile! One week
in the life of America
THERE will be cameras galore clicking away across the country, courtesy of Rick Smolen and David Cohen, the team who put together "A Day in the Life of America" back in 1986. It went on to become the best-selling photography book ever published. The two are now coming out with "24-7," a visual update of American life. They're outfitting more than 1,000 photographers with Olympus C-5050 digital cameras to shoot across the country. In Hawaii, local photog Randy Hufford will take to the skies here to shoot aerial views. All the photos used in the book will be taken next week, and Smolen and Cohen are hoping hundreds of thousands amateur photographers and students will also participate.
