‘Friends’ star
LeBlanc weds model
in Kauai ceremony

The actor marries his
longtime girlfriend in an
outdoor ceremony

After five years of engagement, "Friends" star Matt LeBlanc has married longtime fiancee, former model Melissa McKnight, on a bluff overlooking Anini Beach on Kauai's North Shore.

The couple wed Saturday night, LeBlanc's Los Angeles-based publicist, Joe Libonati, said today.

Some 150 people attended the wedding as three helicopters and a biplane -- believed to be carrying media and paparazzi -- circled the event at Anini Vista, a 12-acre bluff above Anini Beach, sources said.

LeBlanc was dressed in a dark suit and wore a white lei while McKnight wore a long white gown, sources said.

Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow and Courteney Cox Arquette, three of LeBlanc's co-stars from the popular NBC sitcom, attended, but Matthew Perry was in London and David Schwimmer was in Chicago, Libonati said.

Brad Pitt, Anniston's husband; David Arquette, Arquette's husband, and "Friends" creators Kevin Bright and David Crane also were among the guests.

Sources who attended said five white tents were set up for the ceremony and reception on the grassy ocean view bluff, as well as five portable toilets. Most of the guests wore aloha shirts and leis. A champagne toast to the couple was made at midnight.

The smallest tent, which the couple stood under to exchange vows, was placed near the cliff's edge.

A trail of flowers more than 100 feet long led from the main tent area to the smaller nuptial "canopy."

Local businesses helped the couple keep the wedding private. Local helicopter companies reportedly voluntarily grounded their fleets in respect to the nuptials but told reporters they were booked solid for the usual air tours.

A Kauai baker prepared a four-tiered passion fruit wedding cake in her home in order to keep her part of the event secret. Gaylord's restaurant outside Lihue was closed Friday for the wedding party's rehearsal dinner. Floral displays also were provided by a local florist.

The Princeville Resort overlooking Hanalei Bay was fully booked for the weekend with celebs including Kudrow and dozens of news media, including a seven-member team from the National Enquirer.

LeBlanc, 35, popped the question to McKnight in November 1998 after the two had dated for about a year. The bride has two children from a previous relationship, making LeBlanc, who plays Joey the dim-bulb actor on the hit NBC series, an instant stepdad.

The actor reportedly signed a pre-nuptial agreement with McKnight last month. LeBlanc, who receives a reported $1 million-plus per episode, is the first of the series' male leads to wed.
