Owls eliminate Raiders


Mid-Pacific scored five runs with two outs in the top of the seventh inning last night at Ala Wai Field to break a 2-2 tie and eliminate Iolani 7-2 from the Interscholastic League of Honolulu baseball tournament.

Harry Kuroda pitched a complete game for the Owls, striking out three.

Iolani's early exit is a surprise. The Raiders (12-6) went 11-3 in the regular season before losing to Kamehameha in a playoff for the regular-season title and a spot in the state tournament.

The Owls (9-7-1) is secheduled to play Saint Louis today at 3:45 p.m. at Ala Wai Field.
