Ruth ends wild ILH
game with 2-run homer


Keoni Ruth drilled a 2-0 pitch from Brett Ikei for a home run to end a wild Interscholastic League of Honolulu tournament game with Maryknoll.

Maryknoll led in the top of the third but entered the seventh inning down by three runs before rallying to tie it despite committing five errors in the game.

Ruth, who had driven in a run earlier in the game, made a winner out of Isaac Kamai.

Sacred Hearts held Akamine to just four points in the first half before being outscored 17-9 in the third quarter. Maryknoll's Nicole Lerner led both teams with 20 points, 14 of them coming from the free-throw line.
