100 colleges take part in tomorrow's fair

Students who want to learn more about getting into college and which school would suit them should head to the Honolulu National College Fair at the Hawaii Convention Center tomorrow.

Representatives of more than 100 mainland and local colleges will be at the free fair, which runs from 8:30 a.m. to noon and 5 to 8:30 p.m.

It is sponsored by the National Association for College Admission Counseling.

"This college fair is one of the few opportunities students have to talk to college admission officers face to face," said Jean Fukuji, chairwoman of the fair and a counselor at Radford High School.

The fair will include workshops on preparing for college, essay writing, test taking and qualifying for college sports.

Among the colleges participating are University of Southern California, University of Washington, Boston University, Pepperdine, Air Force Academy and Hawaii institutions.
