Del Monte Fresh Produce (Hawaii) Inc. is cutting its Honolulu Chilled and Frozen operations and will permanently lay off 67 of 77 employees beginning June 30, according to a notice filed with the state Department of Labor and Industrial Relations.

Employees in 17 job categories, including trimmer, gel ice attendant and luna, are represented by the International Longshore and Warehouse Union.

Cuts of nonunion employees will affect secretarial, managerial and supervisory personnel.

The company has 154 vacant jobs at its Oahu plantation and Kunia fresh fruit facilities that will be offered to all displaced workers.
