Plaques honoring the USS Honolulu were added to the plinth holding the ship's bell during a ceremony on Friday in the lobby of City Hall. Several dozen ship veterans joined city and Navy officials in attendance. Among them was Ray Emory, shown here reflected in one of the new plaques.

The Hawaii branch of the Buddha's Light International Association held a peace ceremony at the Chinatown Cultural Plaza yesterday, comforting souls involved in the Iraq war. Leading a chant during the service was the Rev. Yi Chao, center.
