New jobs

>> HaleNohona, a new residential community for seniors, has hired Ken Sandefur as executive director. He previously served as vice-president for AT&T Hawaii.

>> Ken Furuta has been named executive chef of the Hau Tree Lanai restaurant at the New Otani Kaimana Beach Hotel. He joined the eatery in 1987 as a sauté cook.

>> Team Vision has hired Shugang "Peter" Sun as a Web programmer. He will be responsible for Web site development for clients. He most recently worked as a Web application programmer for Riders Corp., a local job placement company.

>> CB Richard Ellis Hawaii Inc. has appointed Steve W. Sullivan assistant building manager for Harbor Court in downtown Honolulu. He oversees maintenance, security and janitorial personnel. Sullivan was most recently the assistant general manager at the Waikiki Landmark Condominium. Anthony J. Hunt and Andrew D. Starn have joined CB Richard Ellis as associates in its retail properties division. Hunt specializes in retail properties and tenant representation He previously worked as the operational manager at Kapualei Ranch on Molokai. Starn represents landlords who lease retail properties. He formerly worked with NorthStar Capital Investment Group in New York.

>> Milici Valenti Ng Pack has hired Jackie Emerson as an account executive. Previously in Springfield, Mo., Emerson worked for Noble & Associates. Also at Milici Valenti, Tania Ishimaru has been hired as an account coordinator. Gary Humenik of San Francisco joins the firm as a senior copywriter. Sudipto "Piku" Ghosh joins Milici Valenti as a junior copywriter. A native of India, he has worked in India, Germany and Chicago as a copywriter. And Richard Osaki has been hired as a creative production artist. He most recently worked as a pre-press electronic stripper for Pacific Photo-Engraving.

Promotions

>> The Queen's Medical Center has promoted Bernadette L. Merlino to vice president, professional services. She will oversee 400 full-time employees, and strategic leadership and business development in the areas of diagnostic imaging, cardiac care and post-acute rehabilitation. Merlino has been with Queen's since 1984, her previous job title was manager, cardiac, diagnostic and rehabilitation services.

>> First Hawaiian Bank has promoted the following vice presidents: Lovina P. Ah Mow, real estate loan servicing department; Stephanie Asato, trust business development; Paula C. H. Chang, Main Banking Center business banking officer; Ronald C. M. Chang, Kapiolani Banking Center; Jerome K. Fukuhara, retail information; Anneliese McLean, Kailua branch; Bonnie Rice, Bishop Street Capital Management; and Calvin Umamoto, card services division.
