Francisco Espiritu Banda, 85, of Wahiawa, a retired Sangilo Gold Mining Co. mechanic in the Philippines and McDonald's employee in Mililani, died March 18 in Wahiawa General Hospital. He was born in Pozorrubio, Pangasinan, the Philippines. He is survived by wife Bernice B., daughters Luzviminda Martinez and Catherine Lamug, adopted son Winefredo, stepsons Eleodoro and Wilfredo Madayag, stepdaughter Estrelita Madayag, 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Angeles Alexander Fernandes, 93, of Honolulu, a former state auditor, accountant and independent businessman, died March 18 in One Kalakaua Senior Living. He was also a Realtor for Herbert Horita Inc. and former president of the Pioneer Portuguese Civic Club. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by wife Fanny; daughters Shirley Schweitzer, Marlene Greer and Lucille "Judy" Hill; son Alfred Pacheco; 17 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. Thomas J. Haley, 89, of Oceanside, Calif., a retired Food and Drug Administration employee and former University of Hawaii professor, died March 19 at home. He was born in Crosby, Minn.
