Five-time defending Oahu Interscholastic Association girls basketball champion Kalaheo opened its league season by routing Castle 60-28 last night.

Mustangs newcomer Taylor Smith scored 12 points to lead host Kalaheo.

Shaina Siliga hit three 3-pointers and scored all of her 11 points in the first half.

Aiea 46, Waianae 22: Jamie Rosario scored 10 of her game-high 15 points in the fourth quarter as Na Alii ran away from the visiting Seariders.

Waianae was hurt by poor free-throw shooting, going just 12-for-29. Aiea was 11-for-18 from the line.

Lehua Yap scored eight of Nanakuli's nine second-quarter points and she finished with 16.

Iolani took a two-point lead at the end of one quarter, but Kamehameha rode Megan Ching's game-high 14 points to the lopsided victory.
