Dark clouds hung low over the sky at sunset yesterday over Ala Moana Beach. Honolulu saw scattered afternoon showers with Windward and East Oahu getting the heaviest dousing. Kamehame Ridge in Hawaii Kai received 1.41 inches of rain yesterday, according to the National Weather Service.




GIVING THE NEEDY A HELPING HAND

Harbor House hands out food at Waimanalo park

Surplus food was distributed yesterday at Waimanalo Beach Park Pavilion by Harbor House, a nonprofit program that feeds the homeless and needy. The program is affiliated with the Hawaii Foodbank. This is done here twice a month. Ernest Makaike carried some food he picked up.
