‘La Boheme’

Hollywood's Alison England will be showcased in Hawaii Opera Theatre's production of "La Boheme."

England, a soprano, actress and comedienne, recently finished her one-woman tour "Opera, Broadway & Beyond."

England will portray Musetta in "La Boheme." Puccini's classic tale about human morality and coming of age is set in Paris' Latin Quarter in the early 19th century, where young artist Marcello and poet Rodolfo are living the Bohemian lifestyle and believe they must suffer for art and love.

The production will be directed by Henry Akina and conducted by Jorg Pitschmann.

Performances at the Blaisdell Concert Hall will be at 8 p.m. today, 4 p.m. Sunday and 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and next Thursday. Tickets are $27 to $95, available by calling 596-7372 or the HOT box office at 596-7858.
