New jobs

>> KMH LLP has named Wilcox W. K. Choy audit partner. He has more than 15 years in accounting and auditing experience, specializing in real estate development and time-share industries. Choy was most recently a partner and the head of the assurance department at the Honolulu office of Grant Thornton LLP. KMH LLP is a local accounting firm.

>> The University of Hawaii Foundation has hired Mealoha Husen as director of alumni relations. A graduate of the Kamehameha Schools, she was most recently membership and marketing director of Oregon State University's alumni association. Lorraine Leslie has been hired as special events coordinator. She was most recently manager of the Island Society at the Plaza Club. Leslie has more than 20 years of managerial experience in client services and sales. Dana Myers has been hired as director of development for libraries. She was most recently development director for the Honolulu Waldorf School and recently served as managing director for the Hawaii Vocal Arts Ensemble.

>> Iris Catalani has joined Finance Factors Ltd. as vice president and compliance officer. She will be responsible for insuring that the company complies with federal and state laws and regulations. Prior to joining the company, she served in state regulatory agencies overseeing areas such as real estate, unemployment insurance and cable television.

>> Ken Whitten and Norman Lee have been named management executives at Hawaiiana Management Co. Whitten was most recently a Chaney Brooks & Co. property manager. Lee was most recently a Chaney Brooks senior community association manager.

>> Summit Lending has hired Bobby Cooksey as retail loan processor and Gloria AhNee as legal liaison. Cooksey works with loan officers and underwriters on processing transaction. Cooksey most recently worked for the Mortgage Brokers Consortium as a loan processor. AhNee's primary responsibility is to ensure Summit Lending maintains legal compliance regarding research, paperwork and contract reviews. Summit Lending is a locally owned and operated mortgage bank.

>> Spotlight Hawaii Publishing has hired Mindy Sue Ash as a sales account manager. She has more than 15 years of experience in advertising, sales and public relations, most recently at Nippon Golden Network and This Week Publications as sales director.

Promotions

>> Stacy L. Sur has been promoted to president from vice president at Hawaii Investors for Affordable Housing Inc. He joined the firm in 1996 as a financial analyst and has 10 years of experience in the field of affordable housing.

>> Central Pacific Bank has promoted Sherri Gomes to vice president and commercial banking officer of financial services for the Metro I Division and Garrett Grace to vice president and commercial banking officer of financial services for the East Region. Gomes will be responsible for commercial business accounts, including assisting businesses with cash management. She has 11 years of banking experience. Grace's duties will include overseeing commercial real estate transactions. He is in the Pacific Century Fellow Program for young executives and future leaders of Hawaii. Both Gomes and Grace joined Central Pacific Bank in 2000 and previously served as assistant vice presidents and commercial banking officers. Also at the bank, Keith Masuda has been promoted to assistant vice president and private banking officer of financial services for the private banking division. He will oversee loans and deposits for large private accounts and maintain customer relationships. Masuda joined CPB earlier this year with seven years of banking experience. Laurie Sloan has been promoted to assistant vice president and commercial banking specialist of financial services for the Metro II Division. She will serve as a liaison between loan officers and clients and oversee the Metro II Division team. Sloan joined Central Pacific Bank in 2000 with more than 25 years of banking experience. Central Pacific Bank is Hawaii's third largest commercial bank with 24 branches statewide.

On the board

>> Charles Kaneshiro recently was appointed to the board of directors of the American Institute of Architects' Honolulu Chapter. Kaneshiro works for Honolulu design firm Group 70 International.

>> The Hawaii chapter of the Public Relations Society of America has named Donda D. Spiker president of the board. She is the marketing and public relations manager for Kuakini Medical Center. Other 2003 officers are: President-Elect and Treasurer Duke Gonzales, Secretary Sherelee S. Saneishi-Kim and Immediate Past President Howard Daniel. Committee chairs include: Ralph Kam, ethics; James W. Law, accreditation; Song Choi, membership; Jan M. Kagehiro, public service and Helen Varner, scholarship.

>> The Kohala Coast Resort Association has named Waikoloa Land Co.'s Thos Rohr president for his 10th term and sixth consecutive year. He directs the organization in achieving increased international recognition of the Kohala Coast as a luxury resort destination. He also oversees master planning, design direction, financing, construction, government relations, marketing and overall operations of Waikoloa Beach Resort and Waikoloa Village.

>> Amy Agabayani has been elected 2003 of the Filipino Community Center Inc. board of directors. She is director of the University of Hawaii at Manoa Student Equity, Excellence and Diversity Program. Other community center officers are: Vice Chair Rose Cruz Churma, Secretary Ethel Alikpala Ward and Treasurer Stephen Callo.

>> Honorary Chair Ruth Ono and Working Chair Judy Goo lead the American Diabetes Association Hawaii's advisory board for 2003. Ono's experience spans nearly 50 years at the Queen's Medical Center. She recently retired as Queen's Health Systems vice president. Goo is D&J Specialities president. She analyzes markets for clients throughout Hawaii and the West Coast.
