The Big Island goes
on a mainland tour

By Star-Bulletin Staff

The Big Island Visitors Bureau has taken its show to the road, starting with a sales blitz this week in Colorado to push travel agent bookings to the island.

The Big Island bureau will head in March to Northern California, then to Southern California in late April, covering such cities as Oxnard, Santa Ana, La Jolla and Glendale. The show then moves to New Mexico, Arizona and Las Vegas in late September.

Eric Dutro, director of sales, will lead a travel team that will include major hotels Waikoloa Beach Marriott, Mauna Lani Bay Hotel and Bungalows, Hawaii Naniloa Hotel and Hilton Waikoloa Village, as well as Aloha and United airlines.
