Ashley Lelie

Life in the NFL

as NFL champs

I'VE been in Hawaii for a week and everything is just fine.

It's Hawaii!

The best time I've had was probably just sitting on the beach, waking up in the morning and sitting out at Waikiki.

I haven't really gone out to do the tourist stuff yet. I'll probably wait until next week and take a drive around the island and go to the North Shore.

For now, I'm just hanging out and relaxing and kicking my feet up.

I watched the Raiders game and it was a really good game. It was a little hard to watch because I really wanted to be there in the playoffs.

Both teams, the Raiders and Titans, played really well, especially the quarterbacks, Steve McNair and Rich Gannon.

I'm surprised the Eagles lost. I really thought they'd win and it would be a close game.

The play that really stuck out was when Jerry Porter dropped that touchdown pass in the end zone. It can happen.

Napoleon Harris, the Raiders starting middle linebacker, was my roommate when we went to the pre-draft workout at Atlanta. We have the same agent.

He played really well Sunday, had a sack and broke up a couple of plays. He's a cool guy. He's kind of like a Ray Lewis, actually. He's got a really confident attitude.

I knew he was really good before we went to the pre-draft workouts because he was rated the No. 1 linebacker in the draft. And then during the workouts, you could definitely see why.

I watched the game at Justin Colbert and Keith Bhonapha's house. I used to hang out with them when we were teammates in my last year at UH. We watched the game and had fun, basically doing what fans do, rooting for teams and stuff like that.

As for the Super Bowl, I think Tampa Bay will win just because its defense is so dominant. The Raiders' defense is all right, but it probably doesn't have enough to stop Tampa Bay's offense. Tampa Bay doesn't have a great offense, but I think the Buccaneers have just enough weapons to beat the Raiders. I think the Buccaneers will win on both sides of the ball.

But you never know, just like last year. Everybody thought the Rams were better than the Patriots at this and better than the Patriots at that, and nobody thought the Patriots would win and they did.

The Raiders have great fans and it's in California, so all of California will be rooting for them. So it will be basically like Oakland as the home team at the Super Bowl.

I still don't have any solid plans for my stay here in Hawaii and for what I'll be doing when I return to Denver. I'll probably know more next week.

I haven't kept up with the Denver media, so I haven't heard what's being talked about as far as the rumors about what we're going to do at the quarterback position or what position we'll be going for in the draft.

I've been getting a lot of "alohas" and shakas and people asking "what's up?" since I got here. People have been really nice.

Hawaii is always so nice.
