A group of native Hawaiians and supporters gathered yesterday at Iolani Palace, beginning a week of events commemorating the 110 years since the overthrow of the Hawaiian monarchy. The ongoing celebration of the centennial of Korean immigration to Hawaii spread yesterday to the Hilton Hawaiian Village Coral Ballroom. In the exhibition spaces, Toni Lee adjusted a "wonsam" worn by royalty in the past, part of her display of traditional and contemporary Korean costumes and clothing.
