Menehunes win first in OT
over Surfriders

With clutch free-throw shooting in overtime, Moanalua earned its first win of the Oahu Interscholastic Association basketball season by beating host Kailua 48-43.

The Menehunes outscored the Surfriders 7-2 in the extra period, thanks to two foul shots apiece from Joseph Nishimura, Jaimie Rego and Chris Young.

Kailua's David Kalahiki sent the game to overtime with a 3-pointer late in the final period of the Eastern Division contest.
