UH’s Gowdy and Coyle
tops at diving meet


Hawaii's Mike Gowdy and Jonathan Coyle took the top two spots in the 1-meter event yesterday in the second and final day of the Hawaii Diving Invitational at the Duke Kahanamoku Pool.

Gowdy scored 300.45 while Coyle accumulated 285.20 points.

Wisconsin's K.C. Bunnell won the women's 3-meter with a 420.00 scored. UH's Victorya Moreno was fourth at388.60.

Gowdy (528.40) and Coyle (500.75) placed first and second in the 3-meter event on Tuesday.

Scully, Baker-Finch to broadcast Skins

Legendary broadcaster Vin Scully will partner with former British Open champion Ian Baker-Finch to broadcast the 2003 ConAgra Foods Skins Game at Wailea Resorts on Jan. 25 and 26.

Two-time U.S. Open champion Andy North will provide color commentary from the course.

Scully, enshrined in the American Sportscasters Hall of Fame, will call the Skins for the fourteenth time, his first since 2000.
