HAMADA + HOWARD = GREAT JAZZ!: Bruce Hamada (standing left) and Jim Howard (standing right) welcomed Roy and Kathy Sakuma (seated left), Dean Taba (standing), and Noel and Liane Okimoto at Lewers Lounge in the Halekulani last Wednesday. Hamada and Howard, together one of Hawaii's top jazz duos, have made the room Waikiki's jazz oasis since 1994.

A LUCKY COUPLE: Craig and Cynthia Drucker discovered the duo's romantic dance music while visiting from Las Vegas. The trip was a honeymoon gift, and the couple checked out the lounge on the right night. Hamada and Howard are there Tuesdays and Wednesdays only.

SWING, KIDS!: Dancers, from left, Evan Yashiki, Eleanor Keisman, Leigh Nakanishi and Kennly Asato dug the duo's smooth jazz repertoire later that night. Hamada (bass) and Howard (acoustic piano) kept 'em dancing with a great set of classic jazz and pop tunes. It was all good listening music, too. Hamada, Howard and Noel Okimoto will play a concert with Karrin Allyson in January.
