Chieko Chong, 76, of Honolulu, a retired Kalani High School registrar, died Dec. 11. She was born in Hilo. She is survived by son Everett, daughter Carol Ogata, sisters Rieko Lovette and May Kitagawa, and two grandchildren. No public services.

Marvin Joyce Ford, 77, of Keaau, Hawaii, a Puget Sound Naval Shipyard boilermaker, U.S. Army veteran and piano tuner, died Nov. 25 in Hilo Medical Center. He was born in Kellogg, Idaho. He is survived by daughter Marva Clark and caregivers Ben and Annette Mead and their children Ben and Lucas. No services.

Jack Atcherley Garcia, 79, of Waimanalo, a retired Dillingham Shipyard employee, died Dec. 11 in Kaiser Malama Ohana. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by daughter Jacqueline Howes, sister Ulwin Eckart, three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Services: 11:45 a.m. Thursday at Diamond Head Mortuary. Call after 8:30 a.m. Burial to follow at Diamond Head Memorial Park. Casual attire.

Motono Haraguchi, 99, of Hanalei, Kauai, a Haraguchi Farm rice farmer, died Dec. 14 in Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital. She was born in Japan. She is survived by sons William, Isami and Tsutomu; daughter Thelma Matsuo; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Services: 5 p.m. Thursday at Kapaa Hongwanji Mission. Call after 4 p.m. Casual attire. No flowers.

Lawrence "Larry" Toshiaki Ichinose, 68, of Honolulu, a boxing manager, died Tuesday. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by son Samson, daughters Cecilia Ichinose and Laurie Campos, brother Miles, sister Amy Okamura and one grandchild. Services: 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Honpa Hongwanji Hawaii Betsuin, 1727 Pali Highway. Casual attire. No flowers.

Alice Kaakau Kepano-Serion, 76, of Keaau, Hawaii, a retired Kona Bay Hotel housekeeper, died Thursday at home. She was born in Kalaoa, North Kona, Hawaii. She is survived by husband Henry Sr.; sons Henry Jr., Robert K., Russell P. and Kelson A.; daughter Kathleen Hewlen; 14 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. Visitation: 5:30 to 9 p.m. Friday at Kona Hawaii Stake Center (on Kalani Street). Services: 10 a.m. next Saturday at the same location. Call after 8 a.m. Casual attire. No flowers.

June Carol Labaya-Soueira, 59, of Honolulu, a homemaker, died Dec. 13 in Queen's Medical Center. She is also survived by brother Joseph Correia. The mortuary provided additional information for an obituary published yesterday.

James Masao Matsuda, 77, of Honolulu, a retired nuclear pipefitting instructor for the federal government at Pearl Harbor, died Sunday in Queen's Medical Center. He was born in Hanalei, Kauai. He is survived by wife Mabel; sons Craig and Curtis; brothers George, Stanley and Charles; sister Nancy Hada; and two grandchildren. Private services.

Ikuo Tanaka, 79, of Honolulu, died Wednesday in Honolulu. He was born in Waipio. He is survived by wife Teruko, sons Arthur and Harvey, daughter Karen, brother Herbert, sister Beatrice Nakamura and seven grandchildren. Services: 6 p.m. Monday at Oahu Cemetery. Inurnment: 3 p.m. Thursday at National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Punchbowl.
