The Bloomberg Honolulu Star-Bulletin Index is a price-weighted index designed to measure the performance of Hawaii-based companies. The index was developed with a base value of 100 as of December 31, 1999. A chart of the index which shows the weekly performance of its members is published weekly in the Honolulu Star-Bulletin.

Airline stock takes off

Hawaiian Airlines' parent Hawaiian Holding Inc. lead the Bloomberg Honolulu Star-Bulletin Index this week with a 13.9 percent gain.

In second place was the leader for the year, Central Pacific Bank parent CPB Inc. It gained 6.2 percent for the week and has nearly doubled year-to-date.

Penny stock Ceatech USA Inc. brought up the rear with a 42.3 percent loss to end at 15 cents.
