THREE FOR THE KIDS: Veteran actor Hermen Tesoro Jr., center, isn't in the cast of "Christmas Talk Story," but he signed autographs along with cast members BullDog and Nara Springer Cardenas. Kids recognized him from previous Honolulu Theatre for Youth productions and approached him at the reception that followed the opening of "Talk Story" at Tenney Theatre.

Whata Party!: Russell Tanoue, right, shared a secret with Natalie Lau while Tanner Henderson surveyed the action at Tanoue's Electric Piranha Room party at the Ocean Club. Earth Circus entertained. The club was still capacity-plus at 2 p.m.

EXPLORING WORLD MUSIC: Stacy Mallory, left, and William Raye Street talked music with Sheree Seretse, in blue, and Candace Freeland during intermission at the ARTS at Marks Garage. Seretse performed as a special guest of Matanzima Marimba, Oahu's resident Zimbabwean music ensemble. Mallory and Street were so impressed they asked about her African music workshops.
