$3,000 raised for HUGS


WINDWARD residents were cooking for a good cause in the parking lot of the Shack in Kailua on Saturday.

Better get over to a thrift store today if you want to party at the Wave Waikiki tonight. The last Tuesday of each month brings the "Glitter and Glamour Experience" to the club, and this time promoters are going with a '60s theme.

Highlights of tonight's party include a '60s-style fashion show by Shasa Emporium, free retro-style makeovers from Aquaria Salon, free massages and an art show by James Donovan Starnes and Ray Winner. Puck's Alley is set to go off again tomorrow night with the return of the "Bud Block Party" at Anna Bannanas, Bedroq Bar and Grill, Eastside Grill, Players University and Pa'ina. Mass Appeal Entertainment kicks off the long Thanksgiving weekend with more than 20 bands on five stages, and a $10 wristband gets you into all the nightspots. Two trolleys provide free shuttle service from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Among the entertainment confirmed for the "Bud Block Party" tomorrow night: Sani Apuakehau, B.E.T., Da Hobrahs, the Hellbound Hounds, Ho'onua, Linus, Kohomua, Missing Dave, Natural Vibes, Sudden Rush, Ten Feet, Three Plus and the Typical Hawaiians.
