Punahou got the ball with 30 seconds left, and Monahan completed passes of 40 and 24 yards to set up the winning score.
Monahan connected with Stan Fisher for an 18-yard scoring pass with three minutes remaining to pull Punahou within 35-34. The Buffanblu failed to convert a 2-point conversion.
Punahou failed to recover the onside kick, but the Raiders lost the ball on downs.
Punahou took an early 21-2 lead, but Iolani answered by scoring 33 of the next 39 points.
Iolani's Raynold Stowers rushed for 95 yards and caught seven passes for 146 yards, including a 77-yard TD reception. Robert Mageo passed for 300 yards and three touchdowns.
Tamatoa Hackney and Monahan each scored twice for the Buffanblu.
