VA offering flu
shots to veterans

Question: Is the VA providing flu shots again this flu season?

Answer: Yes. Veterans who are 65 or older or have chronic diseases are high-risk candidates for complications from the flu.

The VA also has a special phone number to find out if veterans are getting their flu shots from civilian doctors and hospitals. Veterans who get their flu shots elsewhere should call 433-0FLU (433-0358).

The state Department of Health offers shots all over the islands. For information on special sites, call 586-4400 or 586-4442. For veterans who wish to utilize the VA, please call 433-7676.

If you have questions about your benefits as a veteran,
call Fred Ballard at the Veterans Affairs at 433-0049
or the Star-Bulletin at 529-4747.
