DANCING TO A CULTURAL BEAT

The Japan-America Society of Hawaii held its biannual Japan Day yesterday at Hawaii Tokai International College. Students from McKinley and Punahou schools experienced cultural activities such as calligraphy, ikebana and the tea ceremony. Gail Kajiyama, foreground, and Kuni Morita taught students how to dance the "yagibushi" during a bon dance class.
