A large winter swell arrived along Oahu's North Shore yesterday. These surfers took on a 15-foot wave at Waimea Bay just after sunup.

From left, Rudy Puana, Kolii Labatte and Kamao Berinobis hauled in a good catch yesterday morning on Puana's 26-foot boat, Lealani. They caught 15 ahi between 90 and 125 pounds and two mahimahi. Puana said they went about 20 miles out in waters that were a little rough due to high surf. They launched from Heeia Kea Boat Harbor.
